What Is It About the Weather?

Weather Conversation

Okay. Here’s the scenario: You step into an elevator, and there is only one other person in it whom you don’t know. On the seemingly extended ride to your floor, he strikes up a conversation to pass the time. And what is the topic of that conversation?

Level I Obedience

By the time this post goes live, we will have made it to the half-way mark of Level I Obedience classes with the doglettes. Yes, believe it or not, we’re trying to teach them something about obedience; but in all reality, I think the classes are more to train us than to train them. It’s a sneaky way to train us to give them as many treats as we can in an hour’s time or less. And let me tell ya: Hubby’s doing a wonderful job!

“Aww, look at that face! So cute! Here’s a treat!”

Gabriel Metsu – Man Writing a Letter

Dear Fellow Diner Patrons,

It was indeed a pleasure to dine with you for breakfast on Mother’s Day. The food was delicious, as I’m sure everyone will attest, and the company was (as always) outstanding. However, there were a few things I noticed and thought I would bring them to your attention before the next major holiday.

I’m Going to Say It Again: Acupuncture

Acupuncture, as anyone who knows me will attest, has done tremendous things for me and my life. Even Hubby – after seeing the remarkable changes (and dare I say… CURES) that have occurred just in the past few years – has overcome any sort of aversion to “needles” and ran to my acupuncturist for a shot of “feel good” for himself. Even he, now, goes every two weeks with me to get stuck – and he counts the days till his next appointment with me. Anyone who knows Hubby also knows that he has no ailments, no stress (he’s married to me, after all — STOP LAUGHING!), and basically nothing that he needed to be “cured.”  But going for maintenance has really made some other changes for him – even things that he never realized were a problem. In particular, he hasn’t been affected by seasonal allergies this year.

United Arab Emirates: Smart Cookies

Abu Dhabi Oil

I recently read an article about Abu Dhabi in which it mentioned the most oil-rich of the United Arab Emirates is now home to the world’s single-largest solar power plant. (Somewhere in my fuzzy brain is another article I read about some other huge, massive solar power plant in the Mohave Desert, but that’s for another day.) And after I read the article I thought, “Huh. They’re really the smart cookies, aren’t they?” The concept of their going so green with their energy is so that they’ll be able to sell any of the oil they’re not using to the rest of the world.

Meanwhile, back in the rest of the world…
