I Think I’ve Created a Monster

Many years ago, when Hubby and I first met, neither one of us had pets. Oh, I’ve had dogs in my childhood. They were always strays. The one we had the longest (and she was the one of the best dogs ever) was Missy. She was still relatively young when she found us – maybe 2 years old – and we had her until she died about 14 years later. But she was the most gentle and loving dog you’d ever meet, part Labrador and part Collie, and you’d only have to fear being licked to death from her.

It appears that the city of Philadelphia is continuing its pursuit against the Boy Scouts of America. And I have to say BRAVO!!

As you may know (or not), the Boy Scouts ban gays. They’ve put themselves on their own pedestal to rise above human rights, which is their right to do since they are a private club. But here’s the problem: the Philadelphia chapter (the Cradle of Liberty Council) headquarters resides in a building owned by the city. For three years, the city of Philadelphia has requested the city chapter change its views on homosexuality and the rejection of gays in the club, but the Boy Scouts have rejected every attempt. But here’s the rub: the city of Philadelphia does not discriminate against gays. The Boy Scouts of America get free rent from a city-owned property. Do you see the problem?
